Our client is a metal surface treatment company with multiple worldwide facilities has an immediate opening in its new Singapore facility for a Tapering Specialist in a small, high quality, shop floor environment. This facility uses lasers to toughen the surface of critical metal components used in the Aerospace Industry.
Responsibilities include:
Masker / tapers apply self adhesive 3M Aluminum Tape to Aerospace components as part of a highly specialized and unique process. The tape is very thin and soft to allow it to be formed into complex shapes. The tape must be applied in a controlled manner, using only nylon tools provided to ensure a mirror like finish on the component. After processing the component, the tape is removed and discarded, and the component is cleaned using abrasives and chemicals.
Working with Laser Engineers, Laser Set up Engineers and Quality Inspectors to process customer’s parts in a fast paced environment;
Flexibility to work in a small shop floor environment to pitch in and do other tasks as necessary, including receiving, inspecting and shipping of newly received and finish processed parts;
Routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the equipment after suitable training.
Ability to read and interpret specifications, drawings, work instructions, data cards, key performance indicators etc.
Controlling and performing preventative maintenance routines.
Manual lifting, loading and unloading of critical aerospace components.
